Indian doc develops enzyme that can destroy HIV
Dr Indrani Sarkar has has every reason to be excited. Her PhD thesis, which started in 2002 at the Max Planck Institute in Dresden, Germany, has thrown open the doors for developing enzymes that can destroy the dreaded Human Immuno-deficiency Virus or HIV within infected cells permanently.Indrani and a team of scientists have developed an enzyme called Tre. Tre is a custom enzyme capable of detecting, recognising and destroying HIV, much like a pair of molecular scissors.
They must bring this to the masses as early as possible and that too at a affordable rate.

Doctor World
Its like a digg for Doctors. DoctorWorld.NET is a medical media democracy. It is all about user powered content. Everything is submitted and voted on by the DoctorWorld.NET community. It's a place where people submit, share, vote and promote medical stories and websites.
DoctorWorld.NET is a site where you can share whatever you find interesting on the web with people who value your opinion (whether you know who they are or not), and where you can also find what's interesting from people whose opinion are important to you - whether they know who you are or not.
Everything on DoctorWorld.NET is submitted by DoctorWorld.NET users, and after they submit a story, website, etc. other people will read it and give it a thumb up or down. If that story receives enough positive votes, it is promoted to the front page.

Your Genetic Health

Here comes a company which is helping people to get more information from their genes and get an insight into their ancestry, inherited traits etc., For non-biology students who want to know more about genes can check out the wikipedia.
23andMe is a privately held company developing new ways to help you make sense of your own genetic information.Even though your body contains trillions of copies of your genome, you've likely never read any of it. Our goal is to connect you to the 23 paired volumes of your own genetic blueprint (plus your mitochondrial DNA), bringing you personal insight into ancestry, genealogy, and inherited traits. By connecting you to others, we can also help put your genome into the larger context of human commonality and diversity.
Toward this goal, we are building on recent advances in DNA analysis technologies to enable broad, secure, and private access to trustworthy and accurate individual genetic information. Combined with educational and scientific resources with which to interpret and understand it, your genome will soon become personal in a whole new way.
